Sports Business Classroom is excited to announce that NBA Salary Cap expert Larry Coon will return for his 5th year as General Manager and Lead Instructor for the 2020 Business of Basketball Virtual Conference taking place August 10-14, 2020

As the General Manager for the Sports Business Classroom, Larry will oversee the entire program, including developing the curriculum, recruiting program leads, instructors and guest speakers, admitting students into the program, and serving as host and lead instructor.

Larry will be responsible for developing and teaching the content into the CBA deep dive, general education lectures, hands-on practicum, as well developing interactive experiences and networking exercises surrounding the Virtual Conference.

Designed for those looking to break into the sports business world, the immersive, five-day Business of Basketball Virtual Conference provides registrants the opportunity to learn from top executives while performing real work in multiple in-demand disciplines, including team video, scouting, analytics, social media, digital branding, broadcasting, and the league salary cap.

Larry Coon is a computer scientist by both education and trade, and works in Information Technology management at University of California, Irvine, overseeing Business Intelligence. He also has taught university Computer Science courses, specializing in database theory.

Coon is best known as an expert in the NBA salary cap, and as the author of the Salary Cap FAQ available online at CBAFAQ.com. He has been profiled in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Orange County Register and Sports Illustrated. He makes regular media appearances including television (such as ESPN’s “Outside the Lines”) radio and podcasts. He also is a contributor to ESPN.com and to BasketballInsiders.com. He is often quoted and cited, both online and in print, by local and national media venues. He also has contributed to the New York Times Off the Dribble blog, HoopsWorld.com and RealGM.com.

In July 2011 Sports Illustrated named Coon to their inaugural Twitter 100, which lists the 100 most essential people in the sports world to follow on Twitter.
