On This Date in SBC – July 13, 2019

On this day in SBC, July 13, 2019, students wrapped up their 5-day immersive experience with the final deep dive into the CBA and Scouting, Video and Analytics. Matteo Zurretti, the Chief International Relations and Marketing Officer for the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) spoke to students about his experience working for the NBPA and his journey from Rome, Italy to leading the charge for all things globally for the NBPA.

Meanwhile, scouting, video, and analytics majors jumped on the UNLV practice court with Toronto Raptors G League affiliate Raptors 905 assistant coach Charles Dube-Brais for a full walk-through and breaking down x’s and o’s.

To wrap the entire experience up, NBA Summer League Co-Founders Albert Hall and Warren LeGarie spoke on their experiences starting the NBA Summer League in 2004, advice for breaking into a career in sports, and opened the room for a Q&A. 

After the final day classes were completed, everyone involved huddled up for a group picture followed by a social hour. The social hour event was held inside the arena at Strip View Pavilion and allowed for students to talk with some of their favorite guests, speakers and instructors.
