Assistant General Manager of the Capital City Go-Go and 2017 Sports Business Classroom alumna, Amber Nichols, recently joined Nate Duncan’s Dunc’d On NBA Podcast to take the audience through her typical workday.
After her playing days running point guard at University of Richmond, Amber earned a Master’s in Sports Management from the University of Georgia. After Georgia, Amber was driven to get her foot in the door. Beginning her career in ticket sales for the Sacramento Kings, to back to the east coast for the Wizards then on to an internship with the NBPA.
She then in 2017 attended the Sports Business Classroom, where she credited her success to SBC and Larry Coon. “Just learning how to track your salary cap, how to assemble a roster, dive into the CBA…it was very, very helpful.”
Before being named the Assistant GM of the Go-Go, Amber was the Director of Basketball Ops and Player Development. Take a listen to hear more on her responsibilities as a young executive, what she does during games and practices, how she learned to watch film, and more!
